Deli Chicchi is perfectly situated in Mount Claremont. There is seating outside as well as inside and check out this feature wall!
The inside of the cafe was open and inviting and busy with diners. There were customers waiting for take away coffee also. The menu was great, there’s something for every type of diner! We had a read through the menu and I was torn between the Tampango and the Chicchi Omelette. In the end, I went for the Tampango which was described as Jamaican Bubble & Squeak. My fellow diner had the Pig in the Hole.
Our drinks were delivered quite quickly…I was ready for it as it was quite an early morning breakfast!
Our food was delivered by a gentleman who wasn’t in uniform as the others were so I’m guessing he either ran or owned the place. He said that my choice was his favourite on the menu and ‘the best thing for a hangover‘. That morning, I wasn’t suffering, I was hungry!
The Tampango was amazing! There was a cheeky hit of spice with every mouthful and there was nothing left on the plate by the time I was finished.
The Pig in the Hole was equally delicious! Pork belly isn’t something I’ve seen on a breakfast menu too often but there was nothing left on that plate either. The poached eggs made it look more like breakfast but it tasted amazing either way.
Deli Chicchi Cafe isn’t far away so it will be a definite feature here again. I loved the environment, the service and most importantly…I loved the food!
