Coode Street Cafe | Mount Lawley

We went to this café around 3pm on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch.

The cafe is hidden away in Mount Lawley off Beaufort Street.
Due to the time we were eating, the cafe had a few tables of customers and wasn’t very busy.

There is both indoor and outdoor seating and a warm and cosy feel as you walk in the door.
We took our seats and were informed that daily specials were in the glass case at the front of the cafe.
We ordered drinks first as we mulled over the menu. I decided to go for one of the specials, Bacon & Leek Pie and my fellow diner went for the Club Sandwich.
Sometimes, I’m a bit of a tough customer as I don’t eat salad. My choice of the pie came with salad so I asked if an alternative was available. The waiter came back and said that the chef was happy to add some mash instead… bonus point already!
Back to the food… I really enjoyed my pie, the mash was delicious and the asparagus was a nice touch. I asked the waiter to pass on my thanks to the chef and I left nothing on the plate!

The other dish looked huge when it arrived. Everything was fresh and I liked the addition of the egg to the sandwich. The dish was a little pricey but it got the thumbs up, which is the important thing.
