We took a trip to the Fremantle Markets last Sunday. It was time to think about lunch so we decided to go to the Cappuccino Strip and found The Mexican Kitchen.
We sat indoors as it was very hot and humid outside.
We took our seats after being greeting by the waitress and had a look over the menu. I was overwhelmed by the choices and had no idea where to start.
We ordered a jug of fruit punch to start us off and it was a fantastic thirst quencher!
We eventually decided what we wanted and then had time to take in the interior design of The Mexican Kitchen.
It was very suitably kitted out in a Mexican theme and I was speechless as I took in the amount and varieties of tequila and other alcoholic beverages.
I must mention that there is also a great cocktail list available and a cocktail special every Sunday, this week it was the Magarita! It looked great, I could picture myself drooling as I spotted a customer with one. I was tempted but I didn’t give in… I’m trying to be good.
Back to the food! It didn’t take very long for it to arrive.
My Chicken Quesadilla was delicious! As I can be a picky eater (sometimes), I was delighted that the filling was literally shredded chicken and spices. Salsa and sour cream are always the perfect accompaniment to a quesadilla. There was nothing left on my plate as I didn’t want to leave a single bite behind.
The other dish was the Mad Mex ($24) and was a feast on a plate. Needless to say, it was not finished but the staff were kind enough to allow us to take it away. It was plainly a mountain of food. Each layer was a surprise with something new and there is definitely enough for two people to share.
I shall be back!
