Margaret River | Day 2

To finish our first night in Margaret River we ended our day with a beautiful meal at Swings restaurant in the town.

It is a beautiful restaurant with a lot of seating for customers in a relaxed setting.

The food was amazing! It was recommended to us by a local and I’m thankful we took her advice. The pizza was full of flavour, the wings were potentially some of the tastiest I’ve ever had, the sliders were juicy and tasty, and the potatoes were great potatoes!

We started our day by checking out of our hotel at 10am and making our way to the Margaret River Fudge Factory located on the main street.

I wanted to see the Waterfall Cottages on the way to the beach so we went on a little roundabout journey. As I expected, the waterfall has dried up but there is still some glistening pools of water to be found. I took a photo anyway…

I literally took this photo where the waterfall will drop when it is in full flow! This is somewhere I would love to come back to at a later date and stay for a few relaxing nights.

We made our way to the coast and headed for Surfers Point and the lookout.
The beach itself was beautiful. The coral stretched out into the sea where waves were breaking before it. It is a popular part of the beach where surfers make the long walk out to the end of the coral and many surfers were out that morning.

There are some pretty houses and restaurants around the area but as we weren’t very hungry at that stage we decided to continue on with our journey back towards Perth.

Our next stop on the trip was the Cheeky Brewery where we sampled a paddle of beers and ciders.

It was a little early but we couldn’t resist sitting out in the beautiful grounds and taking in the view. We noticed the musician setting up to play from 1pm and wished we could have stayed.

We made was an unplanned stop outside a petting farm. This was the reason why…

We took a short detour via Dunsborough to check out the small country town and have brunch in one of the local cafes. It had great reviews but unfortunately I wasn’t impressed with a greasy meal placed in front of me. I ended up not eating very much of it as it made me feel sick.

Our last stop of the journey was back in Busselton as we loved the beach. The beach itself was a lot busier than the previous week with families out enjoying the water inflatables, the jetty and the music being played at the stage.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Margaret River and wished it wasn’t over so soon. I have good intentions to plan a long weekend to explore more of this site the brewery and beautiful beaches in the area.

Thanks for reading! ♡
