It’s not very often that Perth is the first location for major shows and events so I was delighted to be invited to the media launch of the Fitness & Health Expo .
We were invited to be at the Convention Centre at 8.30am. We arrived ten minutes early and were told to come back at 9am as ‘there was nothing happening yet’.
What we didn’t realise was that there was just no one to greet us so we went to get a coffee. We went back at 9am and I saw a fellow blogger inside, only to realise that we missed the gym session with Max the Body..we were extremely disappointed about that.
To make up for it, we had time to chat to Commando and take a quick picture. We figured it might be a good time as he would be bombarded throughout the day.
Anyway, thanks to a fellow blogger, we realised where we were supposed to be and joined in with the rest of the group.
We met Kim who showed us a fantastic smoothie recipe full of goodness, fibre and tasted amazing! She spoke to us about the benefits of the ingredients, particularly the chai and cinnamon. Kim told us that ‘cinnamon is your best friend when you are trying to lose weight’.
Next we went to meet the people behind Active Eating. The expo was Jasmine’s first big show and I love the concept of the business. She makes healthy homemade meals priced at $10 each. You can buy as many meals as you need and they can be frozen for at least two months. Check out what is on offer here.
We got to taste the delicious Caramel Slices…little pieces of heaven!
Next stop was very close by where we were told told about a new style of gym equipment, Torsion Bars. I can really see the benefits of the weights in bar form. It was easy to pick up and I didn’t have to worry about weights moving on the bar.
We were also shown a few different exercises the bar could be used for. An added bonus is the easy storage, it’s small and compact and one piece of equipment. There are different weights available starting at 9kgs.
As we moved to the last part of the tour, we passed a fitness class being taken by Michelle Bridges. Bear in mind that she is pregnant, I was shocked to see her still involved in the class…what a lady!
P.S. The fitness classes looked amazing! You can buy your tickets here!
The last part of the event was to meet Commando and get a photo with him but as we already got a picture with him, we said our goodbyes to the rest of the group.
If you are looking for discounted gym gear, food supplements or gym equipment, get your ticket to the show as you will definitely find what you are looking for in one place. The exhibitors change from state to state so check out the website to see what is happening in your state.
The fitness competitions were also amazing, obviously we didn’t see all the shows, I enjoyed what we did see.
If you are reading this in another state in Australia, you can catch the expo in:
Sydney-16th-18th October 2015
Brisbane 24th-25th October 2015
Melbourne 29th April- 1 May 2016
