I haven’t lived in Melbourne very long however it was great to get back and revisit Perth. I was visiting on a business trip and we selectively choose a place beside one of my favourite cafes in Fremantle, Ootong and Lincoln.
Due to the time difference, We arrived at the cafe pretty early and were early enough to nab an outdoor table.
We had a quick look at the menu however we went back to our regular choice, the Potato Cake ($21.50) with the salmon option. I ordered my usual Long Black ($3.90) and Ms. C ordered an English Breakfast Tea ($4). While standing at the counter waiting to pay, I noticed all of the beautiful cakes and treats that were lined up ready for purchase. Although I was tempted to choose something, I decided not to.
It wasn’t long before our coffees arrived and our food a few minutes later.
The dish was exactly as I remembered on my previous visit, we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The potato cake is a nice addition to this style of Eggs Benedict rather than a sourdough bread. Our poached eggs were perfect and there was a generous serving of that beautiful yellow Benedict sauce over the eggs.
Needless to say, we both enjoyed returning to Ootong & Lincoln and we will return again!
