Miss Alex & Co. | Elwood

Mr B and I accepted an invitation for breakfast from friends last Sunday morning down Elwood way. We arrived first so made our way to the back seating area to get a table for four people. I had a quick glance over the menu and ordered my usual long black with some cold milk on the side.

There were a lot of appealing choices on the menu and I had to make up my mind between the Cheeky Pork Benedict ($19) and the Mediterranean Eggs ($18). If you are a regular reader, you will know that Benedict is my kryptonite! One diner had dietary requirements and ordered a BLT of sorts. We had another order of Cheeky Pork Benedict and the Banana Bread Stack ($18). Prices are pretty cheap!

Cheeky Pork Benedict was absolutely scrumptious! The size of the breakfast was excellent for a hungry person like me and Mr B had the same dish with an extra egg of course. The eggs were poached beautifully and the pulled pork absolutely melted in my mouth. The Hollandaise sauce that dressed those perfectly poached eggs was tasty but didn’t overpower the beautiful taste of the pork.

The Banana Bread Stack was visually appealing and a ‘lovely’ dish. I’m not a fan of banana bread but for those of you who are, this went down a treat!

Miss Alex & Co will definitely be added to my favourites list. It has a great atmosphere, food and coffee… what more could you ask for!
