How amazing has the Melbourne weather been! It prompted Mini Me and I to go for a stroll with no specific cafe in mind for a Saturday morning brekkie date.

We headed up Johnston St. in Collingwood knowing that something would catch our eye and spotted Bluebird Espresso. It wasn’t too busy and as it was quite hot and sticky outside, we opted for a table inside.
We had a look over the menu and I fancied a cold drink, there was nothing on the menu so I ordered my usual Long Black. I later heard the table beside us ask for smoothies and there were some available, they really need to be on the menu or a menu board as I would have loved one. Anywho, I had a look over the menu and decided to try something different and went for the Chili Scrambled and Mini Me had the Chicken Burger from the lunch menu.
My coffee arrived shortly after ordering but unfortunately I milk was off. I ordered a new one and the second coffee also came with off milk. Shortly after I noticed the milk sitting out on the counter and realised why the milk was off the waitress offered to heat the milk to get rid of the lumps but this just did not sit well with me so I left the coffee.
What arrived for breakfast was a lot better! My Chili Scrambled was quite a small portion but very tasty. I would consider the dish to be quite rustic as the bacon was clumped together and the cherry tomatoes were not throughout the Chilli Scrambled.
Mini Me had quite the breakfast. She said that the chicken was tender and juicy. She got a little surprise with mustard on her burger and she isn’t a fan. If there are things on a dish that everyone is not a fan of, it really needs to be in the dish description. Anywho, the accompanying fries were very tasty also, I helped polish off a few of those too.
Overall, Bluebird Espresso was pretty nice, not sure if I would return again though.
Any recommendations for a nice sister date in Collingwood and surrounds?
Nice post and the images are looking good.
