We were delighted to be invited to the Launch Lunch for Pho Anh over the weekend. Impressively, this restaurant opened on the 3rd of May and hosted the launch two days later.
We were welcomed with a smile on arrival and the first thing I noticed was the beautiful our curious art work around the restaurant. There is a variety of tables for small and larger groups as well as a small function space upstairs that overlooks the rest of the restaurant.
We were given a menu to browse to get an idea of the variety of dishes available as well as a drinks menu. For the lunch itself, we were to be served a selection from the menu to share. I was pleased with the opportunity to taste such a variety of dishes as I tasted a few dishes I had never tried before.
While there was such a great variety in the dishes we tasted, I had two favourites. The Salt & Pepper Chicken Ribs and the Pho-Sliced Beef Rice Noodle Soup were the top crowd pleasers. I think the special thing about the ribs are was that I’m not sure if I would have ordered them from the menu if I was choosing myself, I was glad to try something new.
The Pho, which is pronounced ‘ferr’, was another favourite. This is a chef speciality as he hails from Hi Chi Minh city and brings a personal recipe with his own blend of spices and ingredients. The really special thing about this dish is that it is both MSG and stock free, yes, it really it…you need to try it for yourself! We tried the beef and the vegetarian option and I’d honestly eat either one in a heartbeat.
Here are some of the other dishes we tried at the lunch.

I am gladly and wholeheartedly recommending Pho Anh in Camberwell or possibly the best for you will eat in Melbourne. The restaurant itself is beautiful to dine in and the staff are super friendly, what more could you want. If you dine in Pho Anh, feel free to share your experience with me.
