The Burj Khalifa has to be one of the most well known buildings in the world. It currently stands as the tallest building in the world but the reality of this cannot be acknowledged or believed until you are standing in front of it.
One of the first things I wanted to do in Dubai was to get away from the glitz and glamour of the city and experience a desert safari. The thought of driving out into the dunes and having some fun before an evening BBQ grabbed me! It is a perfect half day trip for a unique evening with locals exploring the local culture.
Dubai….what an experience! When flying from Australia to Europe, there is a high chance of a stopover in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi so why not get off thee plane and see it for yourself. The first thing I’ll say is about the climate. While it is lovely to leave Australia in winter, you need to be prepared for an unbearable heat in Dubai if you go in July/August.
I guess as a European, we take for granted some of the beautiful places on our back door. It’s been two and a half years since I’ve been at home and it’s usually for a wedding. This time we had the beautiful Albuferia as the location.
Skiing has been on my ‘to do list’ for quite some time and strangely, I was able to tick it off my list in Australia. I had quite the special birthday present which was a weekend in Mt Buller. Mt Buller is about a 3hours drive from Melbourne and one of our closest mountain ranges. We went very early in the season so expected it to be quite busy.
