Typika | Claremont

This was my second visit to Typika and for a second time, it didn’t disappoint!

On my first trip to Typika, I went for Huevos Rancheros and  and Mr T was disappointed to find there were no bagels left. This time there was nothing off the menu, much to our delight. We sat down at our table and had a look over the menu. We ordered drinks first, I chose a latte , my usual,  Mr T had a flat white and Miss S.D had an orange juice.
We then had the difficult decision to make on what to eat.
This time, I went for the Green Scram & Smoked Salmon ($23),  Mr T went for Spiced Beef Benedict ($20) and Miss S.D went for Brunch Bagel ($13.50)

My dish was first to arrive. There had to be at least 4 eggs on the plate, the serving was huge! I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with this dish but it looked appetising and was a very enjoyable and savory dish to eat.
I must also mention that I ordered the gluten free bread and it was so good that I double checked with the waitress that it was gluten free…try it for yourself!

Mr T’s dish was also very tasty. I haven’t noticed spicy beef benedict on too many menus so I was curious to taste it.
The beef was mouthwatering and the dish as a whole worked fabulously together! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the harissa hollandaise was light and rich in flavour.

Last to arrive to the table was Miss SD’s bagel. Even though one arm is bandaged up in a pink cast, she still managed to enjoy her breakfast and before we left, she had already vowed to revisit Typika.

  1. I had the Green Scram last time I was there as well – it is definitely one of the best things on the menu. You have to try their cold drip coffee; it comes out in a little chemistry set.
