I’ll admit that I didn’t know much about Warrandyte before going out to Warran Glen Cafe. The morning sun was glorious as we drove out and I couldn’t believe how many cars were around 30minutes after it opened.

Each customer walks through the Gift Shop and Garden Centre before walking over a beautiful bridge and into the cafe. We had a table reserved on the outer verandah and took a seat.

As usual, we ordered a coffee each to begin as we browsed the menu. There is an array of options in the fridges close to the till to choose from also, everything from spanakopita to salads with meaty and vegetarian options too.

My dish was very large in portion and had so many different things on it. I attempted to take a few bites of it as an assembled burger, however, it’s a burger that needs a knife and fork to eat it. I loved the semi dried tomato pesto with the burger, a little was even stolen for the other dish! As you can see, my egg was perfect and the bacon was a nice meaty addition. I am a huge hash brown fan so I loved those too. The only thing I didn’t eat was the rocket so overall, it’s all positive from me.

Little sister’s dish was equally as large in regards to the potion. There were a number of the same elements on this dish with the addition of the sausage, tomato, spinach and avocado. It was a struggle to finish this dish and it is definitely recommended for the hungry member of your foodie squad.

I would recommend leaving some time to explore the grounds and the Garden Centre and Gift Shop. There are some beautiful gifts from local suppliers available for purchase as well a great variety of plants, flowers and trees.

Warran Glen Cafe also serves slices and treats which you can take outside and enjoy on the grassy area in front of the river with a coffee.
