A Thousand Blessings | Richmond

A Thousand Blessings is a neat little cafe close to Citizen’s Park and as you would expect, it is busy with dog owners and lycra! The cafe prides itself on local and fresh produce and healthy options.

For those of us who don’t go for brekkie in our gym clothes, there is an ample amount of seating inside, and it’s a tight squeeze with very little room between tables. We squeezed in along the window and took a look over the menu after ordering a coffee each. I considered the Chilli Scrambled Eggs ($18) and the Pork Hock Benedict ($22)… can you guess what I went with? Keep reading to find out! Mr. B went for the Eggs on Toast ($12) with Smashed Avocado ($5).

If you guessed the Pork Hock Benedict, you were right. My eyes lit up when it arrived, such a generous portion. Apart from the ham hock, the potato and cheddar croquettes were my favourite part of the dish and definitely need to be added as an optional side to the menu. My eggs were perfect and the hollandaise did the trick, no complaints from me!

This dish was one of the most simple on the menu but Mr. B just loves his Smashed Avocado! A good smashed avocado is smooth and creamy, not too lumpy and comes with tasty fresh toast and perfectly poached eggs. It’s safe to say that A Thousand Blessings delivered.

We had a wonderful breakfast at A Thosand Blessings and I would happily revisit..
